The shoe throwing by the Iraqi journalist has become an overnight sensation. He has become an Arab hero and people have taken to streets demanding his release. That is not all, he has become a sensation on the US late night shows like Jay Leno and David Letterman. These two and others are having a field day with it. Keith Olberman of MSNBC repeated footage of the incident few dozen times on his program, Countdown . Finally Bush has given something to Americans to be able to smile and laugh in these hard economic times.

I thought a read a news headline earlier that said the shoe throwing journalist had a broken arm and ribs... I guess democracy hasn't quite kicked in yet (reference to one of my favourite "Family Guy" moments)
ReplyDeleteFish, I did not see this comment before. But of course broken arms and ribs - a different twist of democracy. That is why his arm got so twisted and ribs got in the way.
