Now about the Holocaust. It is one of the worst and ghastly chapters in human history. It was one of the worst examples of inhumnanity towards fellow human beings. We must never forget this horrific chapter in world history and we must make every effort to ensure it does not happen again. During this grisly chapter, there were certain people who put their lives on the line to save the victims of the Holocaust. There are many examples of that. Books have been written and movies made documenting this. In the face of atrocities, if we remain silent then it is an evil in itself and blatantly immoral behaviour. The following video sheds some light on this subject matter.

We must celebrate the lives of such hereos and do whatever we can in our humble way to follow in their footsteps. What the Israeli government is doing in Gaza and the West Bank is intolerable by any civilized standards. Killing and slaughtering of women and children is simply not acceptable and the people in Gaza are living in conditions of a concentration camp, as many World authorities have pointed out. It must be stopped and all nations must condemn it and do everything to stop it. Here is a video about Gaza which sheds some light on the plight of Palestinians.

We must speak out against this carnage regardless of our religion, nationality or ethnic background. First and foremost we are all human. As the speaker in the first video says, not doing anything in case of extreme need is already an act of evil.

ReplyDeleteYou mentioned people's reaction to what has happened in Gaza. For those who would want to do something but feel powerless, there IS one thing that they can do, just sitting at a computer. I hope you won't mind too much if I add this plea for help in this comment. It is about this movement that has started at Hampshire.

Thanks for the videos and the perspective. Holcaust deniers to me are like global warming deniers. They have no appreciation for the plain facts.
ReplyDeleteThe number of IDF soldiers refusing to serve in Gaza was beyond miniscule. In point of fact, the attack on Gaza was supported by all of Israel's political parties (with the exception of the Arab Parties) Even the far left Meretz Party supported the war in Gaza. Why? Because Israelis had been subjected to 8 years of rocket attacks by Hamas. It is the right (and obligation) of every nation to defend its citizens.
ReplyDeleteOver he past few days we have now witnessed the truth emerge as to the casualties in Gaza and the outright manupulation of numbers by Hamas. Links exists everywhere to the details of names, gender etc... of those who were killed in Gaza. They dispel the numbers (and only numbers, no names)provided by Hamas.
It is tragic that civilians were killed. It always is. Just like the 8000-26,000 civilians that have been killed by Canadian, American and NATO forces since 2002 in Afghanistan. No one suggests war crime trials for Canadian or NATO troops that are serving there.
The crimes in Gaza were committed by Hamas. The world (even the Arab world) is begining to acknowledge as much.
Perpetuating myths and lies about genocide and war crimes leads to holocaust denial and anti-semitism at rallies with Hamas and Hizbollah flags.
