Killing on the Canal, Brutality in Iraq

CNN had a recent documentary on this where three US soldiers executed 4 Iraqi detainees and then dumped them in a canal. This is one such case which has become public, besides Abu-Gharib, and there may be dozens and dozens more which never became public. According to some estimates, over one million Iraqis have been killed since the invasion in 2003.

The international hypocrisy is incredible. US and other Western nations equip a small country of Israel with nukes to the teeth – over 250 nuclear heads according to some estimates. Yet the U.S. invades Iraq on the suspicion of having nukes/chemical weapons, and destroys the nation with no evidence to substantiate such suspicion. It is not the soldiers who are to be blamed for this but it is the decision-makers who are to be blamed for such slaughter and genocide. Is there any doubt that Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld are responsible for such mass murder and war crimes?

Now Repugs, and some Dems also, are eying Iran; if they can have their way they will do the same to Iran as to what has been done to Iraq. What a hypocritical and murderous world we live in. Quite bluntly the most dangerous people, with criminal mentality, currently occupying this planet are the likes of Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and their cohorts.

  1. As depicted in the Good Soldier, our combat soldiers are trained to kill, but there are rules of engagement that must be followed.

A combat soldier or combat team is trained to cause havoc and kill, pure and simple, and nothing more than that.

  2. Horatio, too many atrocities have been committed in Iraq.

It was not a justified war. Also, there are international laws for POW. These four Iraqis were POWs.
