Stephen Hawking on Aliens

Stephen Hawking says there are aliens and they are very dangerous. They can destroy the human life on this planet. I agree with him. I have seen some of them and they look quite dangerous. Watch the video below and you will understand what I mean.

Science and Religion: ‘God Particle’

An interesting debate about Higgs boson (God Particle) and religion.

FILE - In this March 30, 2010 file photo a scientist looks at the
pictures of the first collisions at full power at the CMS experience
control room at the European Organisation for Nuclear Research
(CERN) in Meyrin near Geneva, Switzerland. The head of the
world's biggest atom smasher is claiming discovery of a new
particle that he says is consistent with the long-sought Higgs
boson known popularly as the "God particle" which is
believed to give all matter in the universe size and shape.

The cosmological implications are hotly debated. Can God fit in a scientific story of creation?
The answer is "no" for Lawrence M. Krauss, an Arizona State University theoretical physicist. He argued in Newsweek that the Higgs boson discovery "posits a new story of our creation" independent of religious belief.
"Humans, with their remarkable tools and their remarkable brains, may have just taken a giant step toward replacing metaphysical speculation with empirically verifiable knowledge," he wrote

Vatican astronomer Guy Consolmagno argued in a Washington Post column that scientifically deduced universal laws expose "the personality" of God. "The mysteries revealed by modern science are a constant reminder that reality is bigger than our day-to-day lives," he wrote.

Money Cannot Buy Happiness

Here is a good example.

Tetra Pak heir arrested after wife found dead in London.

Eva Rausing and husband Hans Kristian Rausing

Couple abused drugs while giving millions to anti-addiction charities. “Eva Rausing was born into a wealthy American family headed by former Pepsi executive Tom Kemeny, and her husband was an heir to the formidable Tetra Pak fortune — his father and his family have a spot on Britain's "Rich List" with a net worth estimated at £4.3 billion ($6.7 billion).”

Environment: Death of Evidence

Death of Evidence

OTTAWA — Scientists will gather in Ottawa today to stage what’s billed as a funeral procession to mourn the death of evidence. The protest sponsored by the Council of Canadians is scheduled to begin at the Ottawa Convention Centre at 12 p.m. ET and proceed to Parliament Hill.

Dr. Scott Findlay, associate professor and former director the University of Ottawa’s Institute of Environment, says the “death of Evidence is a cause for national mourning.”

God Gene?

First it was God Particle (unrelated to God) and now certain scientists are talking about 'God Gene'. Dr. Dean Hamer , a geneticist says that there is something called God Gene which exists in the brains of spiritual people. Interesting!!

Dr. Dean Hamer, a geneticist at the National Institutes of Health, thinks he has figured out why this faith comes easily to some, but eludes others. "Whether a person is spiritual or not is not necessarily a matter of their will. It may be something innate about their personality,"

"It's a gene that's called VMAT2 and we can isolate it, and we can study it in detail. … This particular gene controls certain chemicals in the brain. And those chemicals affect how consciousness works. They affect the way that our feelings react to the events around us,".
Hamer also notes that researchers have been able to detect changes in the brain when people are in the midst of intense prayer or meditation.

Discovery of 'God particle’ or Higgs boson and its implications

This 2011 image provide by CERN shows a real CMS proton-proton
collision in which four high energy electrons (green lines and red towers)
are observed in a 2011 event. The event shows characteristics expected
from the decay of a Higgs boson but is also consistent with background
Standard Model physics processes. (CERN/Associated Press)

"It's helping us understand the big universal question, which is what are we made out of," says Philippe Di Stefano, a physics professor at Queen's University in Kingston, Ont.
