John Kerry: After concluding a deal with Russia over Syria, he headed for Israel

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, left, shakes hands with Israel's Prime
Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after speaking to the media at the prime minister's
office in Jerusalem, Israel, Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013. Kerry on Sunday sent a strong
warning to Syria, saying 'the threat of force is real' if it does not carry out
an internationally brokered agreement to hand over its chemical weapons.

It looks the deal between the U.S and Russia regarding Syrian chemical weapons needs Israeli blessings. John Kerry, Secretary of State, headed straight for Israel on Sept 15, 2013 to meet with Netanyahu. It appears that Israel has the final say.

Netanyahu sought assurances that all the chemical weapons in Syria must be secured and destroyed. But what about Israel's stockpile of chemical and nuclear weapons? Is there not disconcerting duplicity and hypocrisy when it comes to Israel? It is good that any strike on Syria is averted for now, but it was important for the U.S to seek Israel's approval.

As long as this kind of U.S. policy  continues, the prospects of peace in the Middle-East are grim.

Update: Here is a video of the meeting between John Kerry and Benjamin Netanyahu.
